This page will provide you with some of Phoenix, Arizona best Phoenix engagement session locations, that Phoenix Wedding Photographers, DePoy Studios loves to use. Some are our own private spots we keep for our own clients, and some of well known locations are in the state of Arizona. 

Sedona

Engagement sessions in Sedona, Arizona are some of our favorite sessions. The locations there are breathtakingly beautiful and set the perfect mood for adventurous couples saying I Do! The beautiful Red Rock backdrops will add an outdoorsy feel to your engagement session. Perfect for couples who love to get out and breathe in the fresh air. We have a few great locations in Sedona for your Sedona engagement session. Places like Bell Rock, Red Rock State Park, and West Fork Oak Creek are all great locations for a Phoenix Engagement session. 

When it comes to something a little different from the norm of Phoenix engagement sessions, Sedona is the place to be! We do offer Sedona engagement sessions free of travel fee charges 1 weekend a year. We normally can fit in 2 to 3 couples during this trip, but it is first come first served!! 

Flagstaff

Want to get out of the desert and enjoy some time in the pine… head on up to Flagstaff, Arizona for a beautiful engagement session. Flagstaff engagement sessions are some of our favorite engagement sessions. Whether we head up in summer to capture the beautiful summer flowers and the meddows, or want to add a little chill to your session and head up in the winter for a snow engagement session your engagement photos will be stunning. 

Flagstaff has a few quince locations that we love. One of those locations is Sunset Creder. This area is mostly lava rock and can add something totally different to an engagement session. DePoy Studios travels to Flagstaff during the summer one to two times and offers our couples Flagstaff engagement sessions at no travel fee charge if they can make it up during those times. So make sure to join us in the summer for your engagement session in the pines. 

Salt River

The Salt River is by far one of DePoy Studios favorite Phoenix engagement sessions locations. If you are looking for a desert feel without having to pay a fee to get into a desert area, the Salt River is where it is at. 

This area gives you a beautiful mountain backdrop with desert cactus all around you. You can even add the element of water by getting in or close to the river. It can be cold at times, but adds a little something extra to your engagement photos. 

There are numerous areas by the salt river you can take photographs at, we have our own little locations that we love and go to all the time. If you are looking for a location that screams Arizona, the Salt River is for sure your perfect engagement session location. 

Downtown Phoenix

For couples looking for a more modern take on your engagement session that does not scream… desert, Downtown Phoenix is the place for you. The art district is by far one of the most popular locations in Phoenix for engagement sessions. The street art in this area adds pops of color to your photos. This is a great area to rock some heels and high end outfits for a more edgy and chic take. 

One of the things we do have to note is getting photos from on top of buildings is hard. Most photographers get kicked off of parking lots and rooftop bars and this is not allowed. We get asked this question a lot from our couples, and unless you have an “in” at one of those hotels, your answer we most likely be no!! 

Downtown Gilbert

Looking for a small town filled with fun street style photography? Downtown Gilbert is a great location. Having part of your engagement session once the sun goes down is a great idea as well. There are so many neon lights in the area it adds a little something fun and different into your engagement session.

Japanese Friendship Garden

If you are looking for an oasia is the middle of Phoenix, the Japanese Friendship Garden is the place to be. This location is lush, full of greenery, and has water elements as well. It is perfect if you are looking for something other than the desert. We have plenty of couples who want something fun and new. 

Japanese Friendship Garden does have a photography fee to get in and shoot there. However, you get the whole garden to yourselves during their after hours and the fee is 100% worth it! We love this location for so many reasons. Best time of year is in the fall or spring when the leaves are turning colors, or just a stunning green!

Downtown Chandler

Oh… our home!! DePoy Studios have a special place for Downtown Chandler. It has been our home now for over 6 years with a studio location close to the heart of Downtown Chandler, Arizona! A perfect, cute location for a Phoenix engagement session. This is great for couples looking to keep things small with a local vibe. 

We love this area so much because we know it so well. We have built great relationships with Chandler wedding venues like SoHo63 and San Marcos Crowne Plaza. This allows us to photograph engagement sessions in these areas. Whether you are looking for a little greenery, that downtown feel, or some cool building… Chandler has you covered for your Chandler engagement session.

Riparian Preserve

Looking for a location in the valley that is lush and green, Riparian Preserve is the perfect location. Offering couples a beautiful cactus garden, lush greenery all around, and lakes and small streams. You can walk the trails hand in hand next to large trees and surrounded by wildlife like rabbits and ducks. A perfect location for couples on the East side as it is located in Gilbert, Arizona. This is one of our mini engagement session locations included in some of our collection.

Desert Botanical Gardens

Paradise for cactus lovers! If you are wanting an engagement session that screams desert, Desert Botanical Gardens (DBG) is the perfect location. DBG offers couples the most stunning cactus backdrops around. DBG has thousands of cacti in all varieties. There is a fee to enter DBG ranging from $24.95 to $39.95 depending on day and time.

Unique Engagement Sessions

A unique location like your home, favorite spot, place you first met, and so on are also some of the funniest locations to do your engagement session. Those photos and sessions are all yours, and your loved ones know them and why they are unique to you. We have done all kinds of fun engagement sessions from: CrossFit, Hockey, horse riding, Coffee shop, Gamer themes, Campfires, or heading out on a Polaris for an off road adventure.
