Alaa and Charles’ Sudanese wedding at SoHo63 in Downtown Chandler was the perfect blend of love, tradition, and pure joy. Loved ones gathered from near and far to celebrate their love. The wedding day was filled with heartfelt stories and meaningful moments rooted in Sudanese culture. As Chandler wedding photographers, we at DePoy Studios were honored to capture every emotion, every tradition, and every dance move!
At the day began with a beautifully modern, western-style ceremony at SoHo63. A venue known for its urban elegance and versatility. Alaa and Charles exchanged vows in front of loved ones, with every glance and every smile showing how deeply connected they are. Next, the couple’s guests took turns sharing both hilarious and heartwarming stories. A reflection of just how loved these two are.
Afterward, the couple danced the night away once Alaa and Charles changed into stunning traditional Sudanese attire and began the Jirtig. A sacred and symbolic ceremony in Sudanese culture.
The Jirtig is a traditional Sudanese wedding ritual that celebrates the couple’s union with blessings, song, and ceremonial customs. Alaa, veiled and graceful, was escorted by Charles as her family walked closely behind, honoring their heritage and love. The room filled with excitement and tradition as Charles anointed guests with perfumed oil — a gesture of goodwill and blessing.
This was more than a wedding; it was a celebration of identity, unity, and family legacy.
After that the Jirtig, the celebration continued with this Sudanese wedding at SoHo63! The room lit up as Alaa and Charles led the way to the dance floor. Surrounded by family and friends, the couple danced the night away. Sharing in laughter, hugs, and pure happiness.
Finally, at DePoy Studios, we’re passionate about telling stories that are as unique as the couples we photograph. Alaa and Charles’ Sudanese wedding at SoHo63 was one for the books — blending modern elegance with rich cultural roots. It was an unforgettable celebration, and we were truly honored to be there to document it all.
