From college sweethearts to forever love — Sydney and Duncan’s story is one of connection, patience, and joy. As a Chandler Engagement Photographer, their Chandler engagement session was a beautiful reflection of their journey and everything they’ve built together since meeting at GCU five years ago.
From GCU to Forever
Sydney and Duncan met as students at Grand Canyon University in November 2019. Just a couple of months later, in January 2020, they started dating — right before the world changed. With COVID restrictions keeping them apart in different states, their relationship was built on long-distance love, resilience, and deep connection.
A Butterfly Proposal (Literally!)
Fast forward to their fifth anniversary, and Duncan had the perfect proposal planned. After hand-releasing newly hatched blue morpho butterflies at Butterfly Wonderland, he popped the question — and Sydney said yes! Romantic, unique, and so personal, it was a moment that perfectly captured who they are as a couple.

We chose Downtown Chandler for their engagement session, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. With its mix of modern charm and quiet, hidden spots, it gave us the perfect backdrops for both candid and softly posed photos.
